Come smell, taste and explore Amsterdam's most famous market with a local queer artist! Designed especially for kids and their caregivers, this experience is full of activities for all ages. We'll dive into the heart of Amsterdam’s 'De Pijp' neighborhood for an unforgettable three hours of discovery, fun, and creativity.

What will we do?

Experience the largest street market in the Netherlands through a special scavenger hunt.
Get a taste of the delicious international food offerings at the market. Will you choose a sticky sweet Dutch stroopwafel? Traditional herring with onions? Indonesian springrolls? With so many yummy options, it's just a question of what to pick!
Walk through a few charming side streets in the Pijp and enter the beautiful Sarphatipark. Enjoy a little picnic in the park while learning a little about Mr. Sarphati's role in Amsterdam.
Last but not least, it's art time! With a little paint and imagination, you and your kid(s) will bring some hidden characters of the Albert Cuyp Market to life . Get creative together and take home a forever memory.

Who is your guide?

Meet Shayna

Hi! I’m Shayna. I’m an Amsterdam-based queer artist and experienced art educator. I love working with groups of all ages, sharing stories and using creativity to connect people -- to themselves, each other, and the world around them.

Since 2018, I've also been a parent for an endlessly energetic and curious kiddo. Whether traveling to a new place or just looking for something to do on the weekend, I know the peace of mind it brings to find fun, safe and inclusive activities that we can enjoy together as an LGBTQIA+ family.

I'm thrilled to join Sanne’s team at LGBTour Amsterdam to offer you and your own curious youngsters just that: creativity-centered experiences of Amsterdam for families of all sorts.

If you're looking for quality time together with your kid(s) where you can meet other cool families and learn about some of Amsterdam's most interesting locations along the way, come join me for an immersive adventure in this lively city! You'll be included and respected exactly as you are.

Starting point:

Eastern entrance of the Albert Cuyp Market (Albert Cuypmarkt), at the corner of Van Woustraat and Albert Cuypstraat. We meet underneath the big blue artwork entrance gate. See the picture on the left.

You will recognize me by my tiny rainbow flag.

For directions on digital maps, use Albert Cuypstraat 271 as reference point.

Base Ticket:
Family of 2 (one adult + one child age 3-18): €69

Family packages:

Family of 3 (at least 1 adult + up to 2 children): €94
Family of 4 (at least 1 adult + up to 3 children): €119
Family of 5: (at least 2 adults + up to 3 children): €144

Family of 6: (at least 2 adults + up to 4 children): €169

Group ticket:
- €340, - up to 10 people

- €400, - 11 up to 15 people

Special price for a small, private group:
- €200,- up to 5 people

Little ones age 0-2 may join for free.
'Family' included all kinds: that's chosen family too, of course.
Kids under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or by a trusted caregiver with express permission from a primary caregiver.
Ticket price includes use of art supplies and take-away art project.
Individual tickets are not available for this tour as it is designed especially for kids and parents/caregivers to do together. You may use the family packages to mix and match numbers of adult and children participants as you need. For example, the Family of 3 package could be 2 adults and 1 child, or 1 adult and 2 children; the Family of 4 package could be 1, 2, or 3 adults with 3, 2, or 1 children.
All ages are welcome! However, activities are best for age 5 and up. Younger kids will need more assistance from their caregiver.
Food and drink costs are not included in the ticket price.
